So much talk about the oil slick, but I read in vain anywhere to find out HOW the spill started in the first place.

Several people called talk shows like Michael Savage and Mark Levin last Friday, a lot of them oil rig workers and engineers. To a man, most of them suspect sabotage. These rigs are designed to be redundant systems to prevent accidents like these and the occurrence of something of this magnitude is highly unlikely unless it is by design, so they say.

Also, what the heck was the purpose of sending SWAT teams to the oil slick region ? What can they do ?

If there are any experts out there who would like to give their input, we, the truth-hungry public would be glad to hear you out.

I am an electrical engineer by training, certainly not an oil field engineer. But there are certain things required for an explosion: a fuel source, oxygen, and ignition.

How does that "accidentally" happen under thousands of feet of water....?
