That staffer is Vera Baker, 33 years old, who in 2004 was hired to work on his team for his bid to become a senator. The rumor mill suggests that she may have been removed from her duties and sent away after Senator Obama’s wife, Michelle, became angry (and bitter?) that he had developed a “personal friendship” – code for affair – with her.

These allegations were initially circulated in August, just two weeks before the DNC convention but gained little traction. But now the story is reportedly under investigation by the Los Angeles Times, ABC News, and the National Enquirer. While the MSM may be inclined to protect Obama, the National Enquirer tends to push stories into the public with thinner sourcing.

Vera Baker, who recently surfaced in Martinique, vigorously denies the rumor that she is Barack Obama’s secret girlfriend.

Vera Baker does have attorneys retained to help her counter the rumors, which they said were ‘absolutely false’.

Vera Baker previously worked with Alta Capital Group. In fact, she was managing director for municipal trading for that firm. Alta Capital Group, located in Chicago, was founded by Adela Cepeda, an old friend of Michelle Obama from the Leadership Greater Chicago program of 1993.

‘They said she was removed from her position (with Obama) and the political scene because Michelle got wind of the fact that she had a close friendship with her husband,’ the source said. ‘She disappeared, then she reappeared in the Caribbean.’

She added that she emigrated to the Caribbean from the US after falling in love with the man with whom she now lives.

Vera Baker and Barack Obama? Damage Control Needed for New Book?

A new book, Barack and Michelle: Portrait of an American Marriage, written by Christopher Andersen, is out today, September 22, and it may require some damage control by Obama’s staff.

As reported in New York and Khabrein.info, in the book, Andersen claims that a Vera Baker became closer than normal to President Barack Obama during his campaign for the Senate in 2004, so much so that Vera Baker was dropped from the campaign, they say, at the hands of Michelle Obama and subsequently moved to the island of Martinique.

“When Baker suddenly and inexplicably vanished from the campaign and resurfaced on the Caribbean island of Martinique, tongues reportedly began wagging. A jealous Michelle, it was suggested, had engineered Baker’s departure.”
