I was wondering about that too, was this rendevouz recently? I remember when he disappeared for a “soccer game” at his Daughters school and it turned out there wasn’t a game.

That’s what I was wondering - hard to tell the way it’s written. It really sounds like they’re just digging up the suspicions from during the campaign. I also recall suggestions that the real reason she was banished to that Caribbean island was that she was somehow laundering campaign money. I tend to find that more believable. And I agree that they’re probably bringing it up now to make it look like he actually has an interest in women.
