SAN DIEGO (AP) -- Rep. Duncan Hunter said he would support deporting U.S.-born children of illegal immigrants, adding that "it takes more than walking across the border" to be an American citizen."

The San Diego-area Republican congressman spoke Saturday at a video recorded tea party rally in Ramona.

They use our compassion against us. What about compassion for US citizens? We must put our foot down. The argument is that the children take the nationality of the mother. Simple and understandable, and what I gather, universal.

What a brave man. Too bad he doesn’t live in AZ. At least, he can be packing heat and a long blade.

Maybe, but not Constitutional. Perhaps it's time to amend the Constitution, to fix that and some other things.

Why can’t Mexico take care of its own people? Provide healthcare, education, welfare, and jobs for Mexicans?

>We take care of them. Illegals in the US are mexico’s 2nd biggest source of income. (legally)

...that reminds me of the reply I gave my little brother when he asked “Why are all women [that I know] whores?”

My response: “Is it because you pay them?”

Or in less metaphoric terms: system analysts say “the system is perfectly designed to produce the results you are getting.”

What should happen is that the parents should be deported and presented with the choice of living the child with citizen relatives/friends or taking them with them. Once the citizen child becomes an adult they, as citizens, will be free to return to the US. Would that lead to a lot of family disruption? Sure it would but when parents break any law they are putting their family at risk and should be ready to suffer any consequnces. Having a child shouldn’t excuse lawbreakign.

Birthright citizenship should be eliminated.

It’s not necessary to amend the Constitution as it DOES NOT grant citizenship to illegals.. In the 1980’s INS decided that it was to expensive to deport all the children of illegals and congress has decided to just accept this as state policy. The 14th. amendment states that Any child born on American soil AND SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION THEREOF is automatically a citizen. So what does SUBJECT TO THE JURISDICTION THEREOF? To be born a SUBJECT means that you born born with a allegiance to America that you inherited from your PARENTS. You are automatically a citizen if your parents have allegieance to America. This has been upheld by the U.S. Supreme acourt a number of times. examples: Wong Kim Ark, Minor vs Happensett, Eng case. Liberals in this country have decided that if you furfill 1/2 of the requirements to be a citizen that’s close enough! Just like calling a person natural born with only one parent a American citizen ,sure it violates the Constitution , but what the hell! The constitution is just a old piece of paper ,RIGHT?

>Do you volunteer to pick up those children and throw them over that wall?

What wall?? The one that they never finished and had massive gaps in it?

And who says we can’t deport the whole family?
Hell, this guy’s probably kinder about it than I would be; I wouldn’t make an effort to make sure they went back to their country of origin... “A planeload of Mexicans, huh? Well, today is NIGERIA day!”

Or, if you want to try to solve multiple problems at once, sell [convicted] illegal-immigrants into slavery and use the income to pay down the national debt. And before you say that slavery is illegal in America, nope... Section 1 of Amendment Thirteen says:
“Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, EXCEPT AS A PUNISHMENT FOR CRIME WHEREOF THE PARTY SHALL HAVE BEEN DULY CONVICTED, shall exist within the United States, or any
place subject to their jurisdiction.”
