The Tea Party Patriots have announced a milestone in the movement: 2 million people attended the April 15 Tea Party events across the country, and 2,000 groups are now voluntarily affiliated with the Tea Party Patriots through its web site www.TeaPartyPatriots.org.
"This is a remarkable achievement for an organization that is just over a year old and run entirely by grassroots volunteers," said Mark Meckler, Co-Founder and member of the TPP National Coordinator Team. "What holds the Tea Party Patriots together is a belief in America's founding principles and a serious concern that our elected officials are bankrupting our future and compromising our individual liberties."
Recent polls have shown that 48% of voters believe their views are reflected more closely in the values of the Tea Party movement than in the views of President Obama.
"The Tea Party principles of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally-limited government, and free markets have steadily attracted a growing percentage of Americans to the movement," says Sally Oljar, state coordinator for Washington, and another TPP National Coordinator.
The Tea Party Patriots network was the primary organizer of the 2010 Tax Day Tea Parties held in more than 800 cities on April 15th.
"We estimate that over two million people attended Tea Parties on April 15, or the weekend preceding Tax Day or the weekend after," says Co-Founder and National Coordinator Jenny Beth Martin. "The Tea Party movement is stronger than ever before, and we are getting stronger each day."
Tea Party Patriots, Inc. is a strictly non-partisan grassroots organization and was founded in March 2009 as a support and networking umbrella for tea partiers, 9/12, As a Mom, Constitution Party, We the People and hundreds of other liberty oriented groups across the nation. The groups voluntarily associate under the Tea Party Patriots umbrella, and subscribe to the core principles of fiscal responsibility, constitutionally limited government and free markets.

November 2, 2010!
What about all the TEA people who are but can’t get to rallies?
Got to be bazillions more.
I agree with you. . . “The number of people who align their political leanings with the Tea Party mindset is enormous”. . . I attended a Tea Party and I would say that 50 or more of my friends wish they HAD attended. . . : )
It would be awesome if every one of them were to vote this year.
Aw, man-- in the old Colonization PC game I always had to get above 50% before I could declare independence! /nerd
FREEPERS WERE TEA PARTIERS BEFORE THERE WAS A TEA PARTY!
Oh you KNOW its true!
This is the same experience I have had... people at work, people I just happen to know, people I correspond with for other reasons - often surprise me with comments that reveal so much... comments opposing what is going on in D.C.
There is a huge movement of ‘mindset’ that is going on in America - A Tea Party Mindset... stand up for liberty, stand up for truth, stand up for the Constitution and much more...
After all there is a constant and consistent barrage of circulated email messages among friends, acquaintances, affinity groups and more -— and so many of them are spot on articles calling out Obama, Reid and Pelosi for their leftist progressive outrages...
Just an observation - Pelosi may be the most widely known Speaker of the House in 40-50 years among the American populace... And 99% of what is circulated by email message is Pelosi NEGATIVE
Agreed. I was at work all day on 4/15 and missed the rally at the NY Capitol. I went to the second one on Saturday the 17th. They should count those numbers also.
For every Tea Partier who made it to a protest, there are probably ten (or more) who couldn’t make it.
Is that an Arizona Diamondback on that flag?;~)
Someone should make up some Gadsden Flags with it on.
I went to one, representing 23 people, who because of age, distance, time etc were unable to attend.
And another million more who wished they could have been there. Had it been closer, almost everyone in our town would have attended.
Still, these are awesome numbers. Keep in mind that most of these Tea Parties are taking place on weekdays, because of the fixation with having them ON certain keystone days (9-12, Tax Day, July 4, etc.), so a lot of people who are sympathetic are working. I know that I didn’t go to any this year because of that issue, but I was definitely there in spirit.
I’m thinking that if the Tea Party groups have them on weekends that are NEARest to the keystone dates, they may get even greater numbers. I’m going to try to organise one here in my area for July 3, since the 4th is on a Sunday (which, among other things, wuld preclude me from participating in my own event). Having it on a Saturday will probably bring in greater crowds.
I have had the same experience with my emails. Even people who were Liberals now want to attend Tea Parties and send me the most aggressive anti-Obama, Pelosi, and Reid emails. I’m loving it! : )
Go for it Titus!
