Yeah, I just posted on this on my new blog. (plug, plug)

I've been going through a bit of a painful transformation lately: My natural patriotism is dying a slow death here. You've probably noticed my fervent hopes and prayers that God's retribution against this country would be laser-guided instead of daisy-cutting. But the fact is that we've deserved judgment for a long time for a great variety of sins--not primarily the sins of the openly pagan and atheistic, but for the sins of those who call themselves Jews and Christians.

Anyone who knows me knows how profound a respect I have for Dr. Chuck Missler. While I have sometimes come to different conclusions than him, it was through his teaching that I discovered the incredible integrety of design of the Scriptures (aka 66/40), and without that I would not have discovered the very strange calling the Holy One has for me. When I first started listening to him over a decade ago, Chuck was calling for repentence and saying, "If you're not on your knees for this country, you're going to deserve what you're going to get." A few years ago, he started confessing that in his heart he wondered if it was too late for this country to avoid God's wrath. But it startled me when in the last year, he confessed that he now regarded his former patriotism as a form of idol worship. That's really shocking coming from a guy like Chuck Missler.

As I get more opportunities to speak with a broader cross-section of Christendom, I've been finding a lot of people who are likewise going through a Jeremian transformation.

I don't have an answer for what we disciples of Yeshua should do. But I think I'm finally starting to ask the right questions.

Shalom.

It's heartbreaking that believers should ever have to be forced to choose between supporting country and obeying God. ("Country first" made me very uneasy in 2008.) Push comes to shove, we'll have to do what we'll have to do.

It's hard to respond to your post without sounding trite. I certainly don't want that.

I want to agree without seeming to be just another "jump on the bandwagon" kind of Christian. It's easy to mouth the words "Here come da Judge." and not really mean it at all.

America's in trouble. As p-marlowe and wagglebee frequently point out, we've murdered 52 million babies since 1973. Some kind of judgment has to be coming, and I think the self-exalting loud-mouthed president is part of that judgment.

And, so I pray for God's healing for this nation. And for me. To be honest, Jeremiah was actually a very positive preacher for those who paused to listen to what he was sayin the eventual outcome would be.

Good blog. Thanks. The focus (today?) on Israel will keep me a reader.

About the "Bnei Menashe vs. theEphraimites

That ties in with a thread I posted some years back about the lost tribes in eastern Afghan, Paki, India. This was based on an army friend's publication he let me read years ago.

I've had a similar experience.

I started listening to Chuck Missler tapes while
driving back and forth to work in 1991.

First by topic and later by exergeted book.
I've been doing this ever since.
An hour to two of bible study each day.

During that same time I started watching
Prophecy in the News with
JR Church and Gary Stearman.

They see the the Psalms a correlating to
the years of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Psalm 110 would be read for 2010.
It looks like War in the ME.

Psalm 111 begins with Hallelu'yah
Psalm 112 begins with Hallelu'yah
Psalm 113 begins with Hallelu'yah

Psalm 114 does not have Hallelu'yah

Psalm 115 ends with Hallelu'yah
Psalm 116 ends with Hallelu'yah,
Psalm 117 ends with Hallelu'yah

It appears to be a menorah without YHvH as the servant lamp !

A seven year period without YHvH at the center ( anti-christ ? )

Psalm 118 is Messianic.

We are given three score and ten years.(Psalm 90:10)
Threescore and ten years for Israel is 2018.

"...I don't have an answer for what we disciples of Yeshua should do. But I think I'm finally starting to ask the right questions. "

I wrote this one, oh, about five years ago, in answer to that question:

The American/Roman Road
American Evangelical's Mission in the "Latter Days"

It's a distraction to fret about America's future. Her purpose will be fulfilled eventually, like Rome's, and then the sovereign Lord will move His plan further on, as already laid out in the pages of predictive Bible prophecy.

So what shall we do, until... otherwise?

40 ...Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods. [Matthew 24:40-47]

Keep doing what you/we are doing, giving His household meat in due season.

I follow some of you in the forum here. You all do that very well. Free Republic is a great outlet for us small timers to "be about our Father's business."  !
