To be fair, I think a lot of those posts are guilty of nothing much more than imprecise expression. The posters know that there are a lot of conservative Jews in America. They mean to say “so many Jews,” reflecting the fact that polls indicate that more Jews were voting for Obama than against him. They understand that it wasn’t across the board. The polls say what they say. It’s not a totally illegitimate subject to raise. But yes, it needs to be done a little more carefully.
I'm not talking about those. I mean ones like this, directed at a long-term registered FReeper. Quote:
YOU, the Jews in this Country voted this schmuck in the Oval Office, lock, stock and barrel drulling allover your selves, holding your hands and singing Kumbayah when he was elected. If you do not like it, the Complaint Dept. is on the second floor, or next election cycle you get your head out of your ass and vote with your brain(if you have any) not with your feet.
At this point I do not give a rats ass what happend to Israel. If their own quasy Jews do not give a crap about their own heimatland, why should I do. I have no vested Interest in that region anyways. Maybe we should focus more on Iraq, to somewhat keep an eye on the Middle East affairs.
Pretty precise; yet ignorant and irrational with no basis in reality. The poster, registered here since '98 was promptly banned, but it reveals a trend in the forum that needs to be condemned vigorously. The enemies of Free Republic and traditional Conservatism read this forum as well. So do young Jewish people who are not yet steeped in progressive liberalism, and should feel welcomed here.
