The country needs more immigrants to bolster the economy and pay off the national debt, according to former President Bill Clinton.
Clinton said Wednesday that Congress should take up immigration reform legislation to preserve the country’s advantage over trading partners.
The advantage the U.S. has to growing powers such as China and India “is that we've got somebody from everywhere here, and they all do well,” Clinton said Wednesday.
Clinton said he disagreed with the new law in Arizona giving the police broad powers to ask individuals for immigration documents, but he said he understood why it passed.
White males in the United States without college degrees “just got shivered” in the last decade, losing more of their income than compared to women, Clinton said.
Increasing the number of immigrants in the country would bolster the economy and help with the country's daunting fiscal situation, Clinton said.
“Changes we have to make in Social Security will be slightly less draconian if you get people in the system,” he said. “I don't think there's any alternative but for us to increase immigration.”

With this new AZ law, the Dems are out in force with their talking points. I have wanted to strangle at least half a dozen people on TV today, starting with Rep. Frost on Megyn and a Latino woman lawyer on Cavuto. They are really talking up discrimination and profiling--just spinning,no truth. Frost was on about Murtha having a ship named after him. He had to bring in that all Murtha did was a result of--you got it! George W. Bush invading Iraq. Megyn couldn't shut him up, like you never can shut up a Dem when they rewind and start the tape.

As a demonstration of “good faith” the Republicans should ask for a provision which states that anybody who is made a citizen merely by fact of having broken the immigration laws will not have the right to vote until they can pass through all of the steps that they would have to pass through in order to enter this country legally, PLUS five more years as a penalty for breaking our laws. This would at least allow some time for us to make them into non Dem voters. If the Dems are not just trying to get votes, they should have no problem to agreeing to this since it is only fair to those who did go the extra mile and SOME sort of penalty is to be expected. At least, also, this would make it where the CURRENT people voting on all of this mess would not directly benefit. Just trying to think a bit out of the box. Also maybe change the anchor baby law and, of course, build a fence. No votes until the fence is completed too.
Of course the idea of strengthening the economy by flooding it with largely unskilled laborers is psychotic--almost as crazy as believing that you can strengthen the health care system by flooding it with millions of people who can't afford to pay.
There are no low paying jobs in any astronomical number that can pay off the astronomical debts.

This is about the most immoral position that I can imagine. It views people as a means rather than an ends. We need illegal immigrants to pay for the immoral spending done by an immoral government. It is immoral to promise people entitlements that can never be funded no matter how much you tax the people. It is immoral to plunge a nation into eternal debt for endless generations. After decades of pushing abortion and birth control, we find ourselves needing to IMPORT aliens to pay for all the entitlements. I always suspected that Clinton was immoral, but I never knew just how ethically challenged he really is.
Let me see if I got this right. We have record high long term unemployment, with no relief expected soon, so we need more low wage workers here to boost the economy.
