Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon says seniors, kids and out-of-staters should be wary of the Arizona immigration bill signed into law this past week -- warning that it puts them at risk of being arrested.
The law makes illegal immigration a state crime. It gives police the authority to question people about their immigration status and arrest those who cannot show documentation to establish their legal residency.

The mayor could be the biggest border control advocate on earth and he could not do squat (in state authority) about what’s physically coming over it.
A bunch of states need to get together and sue the fedguv for not living up to its constitutional duty to protect the states from invasion.
Excellent, correct analysis. I mostly blame the politicians, since they allow the illegals to get the benefits without questioning them over it, and don’t make the employers obey the immigration laws. Most of the stupid, outrageous crap we see around us comes down to failures of government in one way or another, at least in modern America.
LOTS of laws can be struck down as unconstitutional. It all has to do with authority. In this case, my guess that it might very well be so, since according to the federal constitution, the job of the federal government is mediating between the states and dealing with foreign governments. States are not supposed to deal directly with foreign governments.

Arizona should build a state-line fence.
Nothing fancy. But just put one up around the entire state.
Leave the roads open of course. Then if/when DC finally does their job, take the fence down.
Could be a great source of jobs.

speaks volumes
How do you know that Judge Napolitano is a big time Ron Paul follower?
Forcing self-deportation by requiring proof of citizenship for benefits or employment would also greatly help.
Re your post #53: precisely.
Who elected this Phoenix mayor???
Don't ask Mexicans about citizenship, don't ask Middle Easterners about bombs, and don't ask black people anything.
Stop causin trouble, whitey.
Lots of Republicans.
1. Godwin's Law.
2. If I'm driving down the road, 20 mph over the speed limit, no license plates and no driver's license, and I'm pulled over, odds are good I'm going to end up handcuffed in the back of the police car.
Irrespective of the fact that I'm a paleface and a native speaker of English.
3. Try again.
They are trying to scare people now.
Are they not supposed to deal with persons within their own state borders? LOL
I’m sorry, I don’t speak mexican.
That's what I've been screaming about to a week now and all the little racists, and anti anyone-who-I-do-not-like-crowd here have been oblivious to that fact.
So blinded by a hate that passes understanding, they are willing to give cops, the folks with the worst track record of civil rights violations. Government permission to go out an violate more civil rights.
Seems that most all "conservatives" here feel they support the constitution, but only when its advantageous to their likes or dislikes. Sounds alot like the RATS they like to howl about, now don't it...
Straw man. How about your passengers? How about if you ONLY have a driver’s license from a state that doesn’t support Real ID type authentication?
I wonder...does this mean it's not safe for Obama to visit Arizona now because he might get deported back to Kenya?
PaulBot, Judge Andrew Napolitano speaks
against what the Governor signed in yesterday.
Typical of the PaulBots.
I live 20 miles north of the largest and busiest border
crossing in the world, San Diego - Tijuana, Mexico.
The war in Mexico has killed more people in the past few years than the Iraq Afghn war.
Until they defeat the drug cartels, it will only get worse.
