“Frankly, I don’t think it will matter either way. Obama was very opposed to Brewer signing this bill and, no doubt, he, with the help of PROGRESSIVE REPUBLICANS, will resolve the situation by amnestying 20-50 million new DEMOCRAT voters.”

Progressive, despite Glen Beck’s insistance that it’s meaning has remained static over the course of time, is a term that has been used to identify groups of widely varying viewpoints/philosophies throughtout our Nations history. A Teddy Roosevelt progressive would feel very uncomfortable around todays progressives......

Currently, Progressive is the self selected label of choice for far left, Socialists of both the national and international sort (facists and communists), and Anarchist groups.

Are you suggesting that there are Socialist/Fascist/Communist/Anarchist Republicans? Interesting view......

Had you said Moderate Center Republicans I would whole heartedily agreed with you........

My hearing is fine....must you shout?

Henry Wallace ran as the Progressive Party nominee for President in 1948. The Communist Party USA did not field a presidential candidate, and instead endorsed Wallace for President.

Progressive party stood for one thing and Wallace another. Actually the party organization was controlled from the outset by those representing the radical left and not liberalism per se. This made it extremely easy for Communists and fellow travelers to infiltrate into important positions within the party machinery. Once this happened, party stands began to resemble a party line. Campaign literature, speech materials, and campaign slogans sounded strangely like echoes of what Moscow wanted to hear. As if wearing moral blinkers, Wallace increasingly became an imperceptive ideologue. Words were uttered by Wallace that did not sound like him, and his performance took on a strange Jekyll and Hyde quality—one moment he was a peace protagonist and the next a propaganda parrot for the Kremlin.

I started typing more than 40 years ago and I’ve rightfully been using ALL CAPS for emphasis, long before all caps meant shouting. I’m not about to change now.

“Are you suggesting that there are Socialist/Fascist/Communist/Anarchist Republicans?”

The label is not being used solely by Democrats. Meghan McCain labeled herself a progressive Republican. And yes, I would say that any Republican with, for instance, a New World Order agenda, is a Progressive, the source of which, I believe, is the bipartisan CFR.
