One thing that isn’t often considered is that Obama may have all the BC proof needed, and he’s doing what he does on so many other things both large and small, just jerking our chains for effect.
I think that's been considered. I believe myself that when it is politically expedient for Obama to release his birth certificate, he'll release it, probably on Jay Leno or the Daily Show where everyone can make a big joke about it.
Right now, it's politically expedient for him not to release it. He can sit back and watch conservative leaders try and distance themselves from the whole issue, disinviting birthers from tea parties and making embarrasing public statements they're either immediately asked to clarify or backpedal away from.
