I have heard reports that you could find homes there for as little as a hundred dollars. It was hard to believe, but now I look at those photos, and I got to ask, That much? A few years ago there was an attempt to provide houses for free to people who would fix them up and live in them. I read some accounts from some of the families that tried. The way they described it, after dark it was like being Will Smith in "I am Legend."
