Sarah Palin certainly has no problem understanding who our allies are and their importance to us, as opposed to the current occupant of the WH.

I was reading tonight one of the best-kept secrets among Ronald Reagan's speeches, his election-eve speech to the nation on Nov. 3, 1980 -- "A Vision for America". He understood the value of our friends, including Israel:

there is a very long road between liberal Jews who think Howard Zinn, Saul Alinsky and Noam Chomsky are a-ok getting angry over one single issue (Israel) which has little to do with the battle here at home over the soul of my country and now supporting Sarah Palin simply over her pro-Israel stance and them suddenly eschewing intergenerational progressivism and becoming conservatives on my side of the culture war.

i’ll take their vote but it stinks, they are doing it for Israel not their own country and their progressivism in our ranks will harm us

these are not Mark Levin or even Bill Kristol which is probably one of the most unfortunate demographic faustian bargains I’ve witnessed in my half century by a peoples I do think are indeed smarter than average Caucasians

for the record: unlike many Christian rightists here I do not support Israel because of that...I support them because I know them and they deserve it in a neighborhood of savages with the exception of some Lebanese and the Jordanian royals.
