Where else but gov’t jobs can you retire at 55 with pension and FREE HEALTH INSURANCE FOR LIFE?
The same need to be in DC - and the retirement bennies cut way down.
Let them live like the rest of us - who pay for it all.

“FREE HEALTH INSURANCE FOR LIFE?”
I wish. I was given the opportunity to get continuing health insurance when I retired for a mere $1,200 a month for me and the wife. I declined.

I thought teachers were always complaining that they were underpaid and the generous pensions were to make up for that. But from the article,
Holster estimates that 25 percent of his staff could be packing their bags if the proposals are enacted. That number represents veteran teachers in range of retirement, whose salaries average $109,000. It certainly looks like they get paid pretty well if the average salary is $109,000. I'd say that probably puts them ahead of most teachers in private schools with the same number of years in. I say tell them to get their asses out if they think the job isn't worth it anymore. There are plenty of people looking for jobs right now.
