Planes, Trains and Automobiles is certainly an apt metaphor for what is happening in Europe this week, isn't it? Imagine hundreds of stories like that.

And what a brilliant affirmation of marriage that movie was!

And this is from someone who normaly only listens to dark-wave, Gothic and somethimes Black Metal.
Have a nice day.

The time to look for the dust is at dusk and dawn. Should be some spectacular sunsets...

I’m in Dusseldorf. Was suppose to leave Saturday, 17, after trade show. Kept room in our hotel until Wednesday. We have tried to contact Lufthansa to no avail. Will try to rebook when airport opens.
Spent the day in Cologne. Sky is so clear, odd not to see any contrails.

Actually you can really see so much without breaking your budget.

The BM only requests a pound donation for visiting, same with the National Art Gallery, The parks are free and it doesn't cost anything to go to Evening Song at St Martins.

For 18 quid you can go on the sightseeing boats to Greenwich and check out all the cool stuff there too.

I know,,isn’t it wonderful that you can meet people you would never meet in a strange place. My husband who worries I will meet a serial killer on the net was delighted to meet him and we had a lovely time!

Wow! Could you ping me (if it’s not too much trouble) if airports open up?

My DH is in Poland and I’m trying to keep tract of whether he can fly back or not, it’s still a couple of weeks away but we’re worried.

I had arak when I was a youngun.

Wowzers. Anise flavor rocket fuel. IIRC it was clear, and if you add water, it turns cloudy.

That’s the one, right?

That sounds like Pernod; it might be related, though, because Pernod is a brand name. My brother said his landlord’s grappa tasted like gasoline with a little brandy flavoring.

Yep....similar to Ouzo.

I've had arak in the Middle East. The thing to remember is not to have MUCH. I learned that the hard way. :)

Yes, ouzo.

I had that stuff a couple of times when I was very young. It actually helped start my career as a teenage alcoholic.
