Will the US re-supply Israel with munitions after they have been expended.

That is the question.

Thx for the ping, jh. I like that Israel is using very clear language in their warning to Syria. It’s the only kind of language they understand.

“God will side with Israel. Any who oppose Israel do so at their peril.”

I hope God gets the Jews that voted for Obama!

Russian scuds, eh - given to them by Lebanon - would those be from the truck loads of Sadam’s weapons that were truck-trained from Iraq just before the war broke out - the ones that were buried in the Bekaa Valley - the non-existant ones?

Well the shipping cost is cheaper if they take those ones...:^)

I would think a war that involved Israel, Hezbollah, Syria and Lebanon would qualify as a “regional war”.

2 other potential combatants are Iran and Hamas. A few of Iran’s military options include 1) attempt to close the Strait of Hormuz 2) fire ballastic missiles at it’s Gulf neighbors either of which could pull in further combatants . . . the risk of a regional war is real IMO

Nuke Damascus and at least 30 other major Islamic cities. You’d be doing the world a big favor!

Ping!

“We’ll return Syria to the Stone Age by crippling its power stations, ports, fuel storage and every bit of strategic infrastructure if Hezbollah dare to launch ballistic missiles against us,” said an Israeli minister, who who was speaking off-the-record, last week.

This move by Syria is actually a flanking maneuver by Iran.

Both Hezbollah and Syria are acting as first line Iranian surrogates in the coming war with Iran.

It is admission by Iran that they don’t have the absolute error less ability to counter directly an Israeli attack.

Having been through the bekaa valley during early stages of the 2006 war, then 10 days in Beirut during the conflict and after that driving from the Syrian coast to Damascus and then south to Jordan; It is quite apparent that Israel could announce the date and time of an air strike and likely complete it with impunity...even today.

Syria may have some more modern military technology, however what I saw was mostly 1960s and early 70’s worn out junk. A friend of mine is a retired “christian” General in an Arab country. He asserts it is “impossible” to have a effective military when the religion of Islam interferes with training and operations, as in required prayer 5 times a day. I am not being critical of the religion here, just the conflict of interest between soldiering and the particular religion.
