The 8th district police station is in the next block or two, right? This reporter has the crime and courts beat for the TP, you’d think she might be a little more suspect of NOPD with all of her coverage so far. Tis not a good time for the force these days. 16 more days of Nagin and his Chief.

Well, reporters report what their editors tell them to. And true, the NOPD is getting a lot of heat lately from the TP regarding the Katrina/Danziger Bridge murders. So maybe this front-page story will “encourage” the NOPD to take action.

But it took us all week to get the story to the front page of the TP. So that tells me they didn’t want to cover it at all. I’ve been emailing the editor (Jim Amoss) all week and beating him over the head.

To face reality, however, IF the perps were out-of-town “agitators,” they are long gone from the area. Likely some of the local kids who were protesting (IIRC, mostly UNO students) could be questioned and maybe they will tell.

But if they’re wannabe anarchists, they’ll lawyer up and clam up.

Just my thinking, which is of course subject to large error...
