"The fact that teachers are held to a higher standard when excercising their right to free speech (in their private lives) is patently unfair."

What the hell does that convoluted statement mean? That he did indeed use school property to create his site? What "higher standard" is he talking about?

Could be some parsing going on. I think the original discovery was that the website was constructed with school district software, not equipment. And, for what it’s worth, my dad was a school teacher, and maintaining high standards of personal conduct was just accepted as part of the job. Of course, that was back in the day...
