Having lived in NOLA, I can tell you that chicago is a Sunday School class compared to New Orleans. New Orleans is the closest thing that we have to a third world country.
Of course. My first assumption was that the locals were responsible. But it looks as if the anarchist group that did it are actually based in Chicago, and have opened a branch in NOLA. So this isn’t the Huey Long bunch, or the black gangstas, but pony-tailed radicals of the left.
Our daughter went to Tulane, lived off campus senior year. In her apt bldg (6 apts) she was the only one not to be mugged and/or have her car vandalized (well, except the theft of her cd player that didn’t work anyway). One of the neighbors was leaving the local bar late one night, bouncer offered to walk her home .. they were BOTH mugged, stomped. Broken teeth, jaws.
Nasty place, unfortunately, because it’s otherwise so cool with great architecture, restaurants, entertainment. (similar to: otherwise, Mrs Lincoln, how did you enjoy the play?)
