Tea party protesters fed up with government spending and mounting federal debt marked tax day Thursday with one of the largest rallies in the state, urging voters to boot out career politicians in the November elections.

A crowd estimated by police at around 10,000 people — from kids to seniors, but predominantly white — descended on the Alameda County Fairgrounds to express their frustration with those in office and the recent passage of the national health care bill.

I had to leave after somebody posted that ALL the webcams down there that would’ve showed the crowds were “down for service”.

Webcams don’t vote

Democrats and incumbent RINO Republicans, be afraid, be very afraid. You are going to be given your unemployment notification in December.

Mostly white? Wonder if they would ever use “mostly black” in a sentence.

Uh. Ummm. Well, maybe: Obama is mostly black?

I thought it was the epitome of a sneaking, low down weasel-eyed trick.

What do they mean by "but?"

Putting aside whether it's accurate or not, the implication is that this is bad...that "whiteness" is bad.

Would such an observation be made about any other group?

I'm really getting tired of the anti-white racism we're seeing more and more in the media and elsewhere.

The counter sign said:
"end the wars now"

Shouldn't she be with the tea party group? Ending wars means less taxes. Who doesn't want to end the wars?

I was there with some fellow patriots. Great Tea Party...and there were blacks and hispanics at the event.

P-Town ain’t too liberal. There’s still a pretty large contingent of conservative minded folks up and down the 680 corridor from Pleasanton to Danville.

We were there, with a booth for Pursuing Liberty. It was outstanding. And yes, I spoke with quite a number of “other than white” people - black people, Latino, Mediterranean, Native American, everyone.

But it’s not about race. It’s about liberty.

Oh yes. When we were all breaking down, two local high school boys just moved down the rows, helping people. I was by myself at that point (my son was moving the truck to load it up), and they offered to break the tables and canopies down without any hesitation. It was really nice. (I’m sending them each a book for their kindness... I hope it sparks their minds!)

The very nice Griff Jenkins was there, too, and did a live stand-up right at 7 pm our time for Greta’s show. Caught the rerun - it was wonderful.

And the best part - a long-time friend of mine, always known her as a liberal (very nice, too), came by and said she’d changed her registration from Dem to independent. Hurray! I asked her why she was there, and she said she’d heard so much about it (mostly negative), and she wanted to see it for herself. It was a very nice experience for her, I think. :)

(sigh)

"Chatman, one of a handful of blacks at the event, wore a T-shirt he had made that read: What! Out of Pekoe? How about some American Black T.E.A."

"I made this T-shirt to have a little fun," Chatman said. "I went to last year's event and didn't meet anyone who said anything racist. The same thing with this year."

Aaron Neighbors is an extremely impressive young man. He did that great audio mix called “In the Defense of Liberty.” I met him at the Bay Area Patriots gathering in Marin County last month. And a nice kid, too. :) Hope there’s YouTube of him speaking.
