So then how do you fire a teacher for being incompetent?

You do not need test scores to prove a teacher is incompetent. A good administrator can tell when a teacher is not doing their job

Problem is too many administrators are just there to fill up space....they are clueless as to running things. Florida schools are filled with too many non-teaching admin and personnel...and they are a hinderance to education

And....test scores are a ted Kennedy legacy....and I do not want any of Ted Kennedy legacy around our schools

LOL! Ya, right. And the union will let a teacher get fired for incompetence because "a good administrator can tell".

Admit it. Incompetent teachers don't get fired. They get moved.

This is the tried and true way of the private sector. However, teachers have unions and tenure.

For those arguing that you shouldn’t throw out the baby with the bathwater, the baby has drowned. The one thing that standardized tests do is that they focus instruction away from frivolous crap.
