A former senior executive with the National Security Agency has been indicted on 10 felony charges related to the leaking of classified information to a national newspaper in 2006 and 2007, the Justice Department announced Thursday morning.
Thomas A. Drake, 52, headed an office in the NSA's Signals Intelligence Directorate at Fort Meade between 2001 and 2005, and continued to work with the agency as a high-ranking contractor through 2008, U.S. officials said. The indictment alleges that Drake exchanged hundreds of e-mails with an unidentified reporter for a national newspaper and served as a source for its articles about Bush administration intelligence policies between February 2006 and November 2007, U.S. officials said.

Let me guess...the NYT...
Anyone got a profile on drake yet?
Is he a registered voter?
Who is going to prosecute this case? Surely not the Holder Justice Dept.
Assuming the stuff he leaked was damaging to W watch for this case, under Hussein’s Department of Just Us,to go absolutely nowhere.
Holder would get an indict in a NY second if a leak went to National Review.
I’ll see your Holder indictment and raise you an Obama assassination order.
And Bill Richardson is still walking around free.
re: NSA Executive Charged with Newspaper Leaks [Michael Rubin]
Good for the NSA. But what about the CIA? Take, for example, this passage from The American Prospect, November 10, 2005:
The fact that the agency was leaking isnt denied by some. Of course they were leaking, says [former DIA official] Pat Lang. They told me about it at the time. They thought it was funny. Theyd say things like, This last thing that came out, surely people will pay attention to that. They wont re-elect this man.
Whatever one thinks of George W. Bush, the idea of CIA officials selectively leaking material to influence an election is very, very scary and worthy of a serious investigation. But to have a serious investigation would mean having serious congressmen, senators, and no-nonsense intelligence professionals who understand the damage political games do to the CIA.
Off with his head.
