Pit maverick Republican Congressman Ron Paul against President Obama in a hypothetical 2012 election match-up, and the race is – virtually dead even.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of likely voters finds Obama with 42% support and Paul with 41% of the vote. Eleven percent (11%) prefer some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.

I will vote for anyone(short of a Hugo Chavez) that opposes the Marxist Kenyan. Paul actually has some views that I like very much, but his anti-war, foreign policy views are wacky, to say the least. I want a true conservative. Like Sarah.

Back to the topic at hand, did you see the details of this poll? A smaller margin of Republicans chose Paul, it was a lot of independents and Dems that pushed him up. I wonder if the Dems were won over by his show on Bravo, Drag Race?
