The wadcutter is actually a good defensive round, especially when used in a snubby where you might not achieve enough velocity to mushroom a hollowpoint. Nice big meplat.

I'm always amazed at how accurate the HBWC (hollow base wad cutter) is, aerodynamic as a soup can. They do become much less accurate when loaded bass ackward and may open up a bit more but I wouldn't feel unarmed if that's what I had.
