Good catch. I meant to say the point of arrival. I'm trying to do a little too much multitasking and mixed up the appropriate term. I think butterdezillion or someone had posted some vital records procedures and it mentioned how you handle en route births. Where the baby arrives is where the place of birth is listed. But, keep in mind, the baby might have actually been born anywhere along the way, so all they have is the mother's word ... maybe a ship's captain (if he or she actually witnessed the birth).

Right. She might have been there well before the little bastard was born. Or it might not even be her baby. Everything about these people is the perfect storm of ambiguities. Her inability to deal with a poopy diaper for a baby she should have been with for at least a couple of weeks is very odd.
