Obama was not born in transit. He was born in the Coast Provincial General Hospital, at Mombasa, in what is modern Kenya.
He returned on BOAC out of Nairobi connecting in Glaskow Scotland to Vancouver BC. His passport problem was getting across the border at Blaine Washington in a car.
