Thanks for the sale alert. But, I got side-tracked into considering their other products, even though they don't have the 44% discount. I want to buy the premium meat sample, 6 #10 cans of beef, chicken, turkey and ham for $232.94 which includes 27% off, the Datrax emergency bars $5.95, and two hurricane lamps $10.49. Do they sound like good deals?

Also wondering what would anyone here, pack in a sedan with two dogs, my husband and myself, for a trip into earthquake country San Diego. What form would your food and water take? And how much would you take? Should I take my tent and sleeping bags, etc., that would comprise an earthquake kit?

Personally, I would go with the sale items (45%), because the 6 can of premium meats will always be there for that price, or close thereto.

You might want to take a look at foodinsurance.com - they have packages that last a month and are relatively portable. Don’t forget supplies for your dogs!

Well the question you should fist ask your self is "where would you be driving to" what is your plan? How long would you be gone? and what supplies do you all ready have?

I personally like to keep everything in 1 back pack & looking at The Ready Stores they have on sale a really good back pack (ULTIMATE Ready Evac Kit - 2 PERSON) that is large enough to fit the kitchen sink and then some! For water I personally have a Katadyn Mini Water Filter and that can filter 7,000 liters & that is more than enough water for a short term & long term water supply. As for food that Datrex brand I think is what I have in my 72 hour kit but also I have some MRE's (Meals Ready to Eat) that came in that kit that I also have. Also I got a cool emergency blanket & 2 person tube tent that I can use if I don't have my car or I'm out in the back country... I found an old email that I got from The Ready Store & it talks about what to do in case of an earthquake. What to Do in the Case of an Earthquake: supplies to have, how to be prepared before, during and after
