150,000 gang members
Disfunctional parts of the city (Compton, East LA, W. Hollywood)
3,000,000 illegal aliens
Huge taxes
Liberal environmental policies
Huge public pensions

A midget, philandering anchor baby mayor who cannot tax enough.

What could go wrong?

Let’s not forget the San Fernando Valley.

The Valley still provides a significant chunk of LA’s tax base.

For about 10 years now, there has been talk of actual secession from LA. There was an actual vote held back in 2002. It failed.

Unless the Valley has politically deteriorated as badly as the rest of the city, I have to imagine that they’ll perhaps again push to break free of LA. The hard part is letting the rest of LA allow them to leave.

Don’t forget my favorite - what I call the TV watching fee and they call the Electronic Waste Recycling Fee.

If you buy a TV in CA you have to pay extra. Frankly, that would make me so mad I would move.

“3.Which sales and products are subject to the fee?”

Effective January 1, 2005, the fee is due on the retail sale or lease of a new or refurbished* CED that has a screen size of more than 4 inches measured diagonally. CEDs include:

Televisions that contain cathode ray tubes.
Computer monitors that contain cathode ray tubes or use liquid crystal displays (LCD).
Laptop computers.
“Bare” cathode ray tubes or any other product that contains a cathode ray tube.
Televisions containing LCD screens, which includes any device containing an LCD display greater than 4 inches measured diagonally (viewable size), that has television tuner capability and can process a broadcast, cable, or satellite transmitted television signal (added July 1, 2005).
Plasma televisions (added July 1, 2005).
Portable DVD Players with LCD screens (added July 1, 2007).
