You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed them.

WOW! Can't believe you watched that garbage...
Was it the real Jay Leno or an impersonator?

Well, I watched to see how big an ass Obama would be. He fulfilled my expectation.

Leno bombed. Unfunny and mean-spirited. Plus the press was not going to laugh at jokes about themselves or jokes about Obama.

Won’t waste my time next year. I prefer to remember when we had a good-hearted man with a sense of humor in the Oval Office.

Explains why 2001-08 were so darn funny. They all loved laughing at the real President and if they had to direct a snicker at themselves occasionally, so be it.

I prefer to remember when we had a good-hearted man with a sense of humor in the Oval Office.

Ditto! I've already blanked out the past 15 months. I'll have no trouble doing the same until the usurper is removed!

Hi all.. been BUSY as usual..

is that A RING I note on Barbara’s LEFT RING FINGER???

maybe addressed in thread, will check it out.

Had a couple really neat invites for the weekend.. one to bike in NYCity tomorrow for organized ride through the boroughs ... and wanted to get to DC for correspondent’s dinner tonight. Thought I could do both easily (all it takes is money). but as it turns out the $$ wasn’t there so I am here in Ohio

Did get a last minute invite to the Cav’s playoff game. A wonderful second choice to the NYC/DC travel

The FReepers correspondent event a couple years ago when 43 had his alter ego & they had a delightful duo == well, that was the best. The FReeper group was great & the street protest/greetings were such fun.

Hope all Dosers are doing well.. a mess in the USA & world. Miss GWB of course & the current CiC is tiresome at best

Whoa. That photo of the Dalai Lama walking by the garbage is disturbing.

I wonder if that's the way they sent Bibi out of the WH too.

What a bunch of punks we have runnning the country. God save us!

You have a good eye, Dolly! That does look like a ring on Barbara's finger.

jlyspio is our resident Bush daughter expert. If she drops in, maybe she can help us out with some info. :)

A 'mess' is an understatement for what Obama is doing to the country and the world.

OH, how I wish we had a strong, honorable patriot like President Bush back in the WH!

President Bush was SO funny at those correspondent's dinners, the family slides, the impersonator, Laura!

They were funny every single year. W was WAY funnier than any of the "comedians" they had to entertain. IIRC, Cedric was the only one even close. Everyone else was dreary and decidedly UNfunny. (Colbert was downright STUPID he was so nasty).

Yes...yes it is. Check out the faces on this one.
Disgrace

I wonder if that's the way they sent Bibi out of the WH too.

Naw...IIRC he was permitted to use the front door, but was left sitting to think over the dictates of the usurper while he went off to have dinner with his family.

No way for the usurper to treat the Leader of the Free World.

As much as I loved President Bush, I don’t think I ever watched one of those dinners. It has always disgusted me they would sit through that garbage. Of course I’ve seen clips here and there of portions of it, but don’t remember much.

He was a model of patience and grace in those situations, and he always disarmed his enemies with humor and class.

It's definitely worth watching the clips of just him. The rest is garbage.

Nice photo of the present "Leader of the Free World."

The person with that title doesn't presently reside in the United States.

Oh yes, Just A Nobody. OhioWfan is right--you need to, as someone who loves GWB, watch clips of him at those dinners. Pure genius!

Here are two clips from the dinners:

President Bush At Correspondents' Dinner--2007 (He mentions our beloved Tony Snow in this one--who was not at the dinner and recovering from surgery.)

President Bush At Correspondents' Dinner--2008 (This is his last one--such fun! He conducts the Marine Corps Band at the end.)

Another fun clip of GWB: President Bush's farewell to Gridiron Club

And one of my all time favorite videos (not at the Correspondents' Dinner but at the National Prayer Breakfast)--President Bush and General Pace:
Bush the Waiter
