And why did the dems get control of congress? At least partly because there was no perceived difference between the parties. Republicans were dems lite. As far as the stock market is concerned it hasn’t functioned as a truly free market since 1987. No the death knell of the party was the prescription drug benefit. It showed the party truly lost it’s way.
