It is very difficult to leave your home, house, and country for an unknown. Remember, they leave behind their assets and usually leave with not much more than the clothes on their backs.
They are being forced to leave everything they've ever known and everything they've ever owned out of fear. Think of this- 800,000 Arabic Jews were forced out of their homes exactly the same way in 1948.
