Guardians of the Free Republics' letters to governors spur inquiry

At least 30 governors have received the group's demand that they cede office in three days. Federal officials say they're investigating whether the message might be considered a threat.

Reporting from Washington — Governors across the country have received letters from a quasi-religious, anti-government group ordering them to step down from office in three days, in what the group's website said was the first step to disband parts of the U.S. government.

Homeland Security Department and FBI officials said Friday that there didn't appear to be an immediate threat, and they were investigating whether the message could be considered dangerous.

The Guardians of the Free Republics describes its plan as a nonviolent and legal attempt to "restore the true Republic."

The office of Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons, one of at least 30 governors to receive the letter, beefed up security. "We just decided that it was appropriate to err on the side of caution," said Lynn Hettrick, Gibbons' deputy chief of staff.

Officials in that state closed all but one entrance to Capitol and added metal detectors. Governors in Michigan, Virginia, Louisiana and Utah are among those who reported receiving the letter. Michigan Gov. Jennifer M. Granholm's office issued a statement Friday naming the group and said state police were notified last week of the "threatening letters." The document was turned over to federal authorities.

California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has not received the letter, said a spokeswoman for the California Highway Patrol, which is charged with the governor's safety. The CHP would not discuss whether changes were made to the governor's security detail.

The oldest and most important federal antitrust law, the Sherman Antitrust Act has provided the primary statutory basis for American antitrust enforcement and case law since 1890.

Not sure this is what is referred to....???

-- mentions a missing amendment of the constitution... --

A number of people assert that ratification of the 16th amendment was fishy.

Jay Nixon of Missouri is a Democrat.

Although Missouri Lt governor Peter Kinder is a Republican, and says he want’s Missouri to join in the lawsuit, his entry into the suit will probably be at his own expense as our AG Koster (D) is sitting on the sideline.

Kinda blows a hole in your theory.

FBI info:

FBI warns letters to governors could stir violence

*********************************EXCERPT************************************************

By EILEEN SULLIVAN and DEVLIN BARRETT, Associated Press Writers Eileen Sullivan And Devlin Barrett, Associated Press WritersFri Apr 2, 7:32 pm ET

WASHINGTON – The FBI is warning police across the country that an anti-government group's call to remove governors from office could provoke violence. The group called the Guardians of the free Republics wants to "restore America" by peacefully dismantling parts of the government, according to its Web site. It sent letters to governors demanding they leave office or be removed.

Investigators do not see threats of violence in the group's message, but fear the broad call for removal of top state officials could lead others to act out violently. At least two states beefed up security in response.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty said he received one of the letters but wasn't overly alarmed.

"We get all kinds of, shall we say, 'interesting' mail, so it's not out of the norm," Pawlenty said Friday. "It got more attention because it went to so many governors."

As of Wednesday, more than 30 governors had received letters saying if they don't leave office within three days they will be removed, according to an internal intelligence note by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security. The note was obtained by The Associated Press.

The FBI expects all 50 governors will eventually receive such letters.

Oh, you mean like Granholm of MI?

"We get all kinds of, shall we say, 'interesting' mail, so it's not out of the norm," Pawlenty said Friday.

LOL.

You'd think the FBI and Homeland Security would be able to find something more substantive to act on, or else keep a low profile.

This is like the Customs guys confiscating a mess of airsoft rifles and asserting them to be convertible into military-grade weapons. It puts incompetence on display.

(1) Clone the Free Republic name.

(2) Go after conservative governors who oppose obama.

Yeah, that’s a way to take on the fedgov. NOT.

Obama et al setting the stage for their own Reichstag fire? I’ve always said than if this mess comes to violence, the violence will be started by the left...

Even as conspiracy mavens go, Boustred is a fascinating study. He's prominent on YouTube as a decrier of Jesuit, Masonic, Rothschild, and Fed conspiracies.

Dilettante.

OK, I see they’re sending packets to all 50 governors. Still, how does asking the STATE governors to step down equate with opposing the fedgov? Something not adding up...

Here is a pretty good explanation of the crux (one that fits a great many others I've seen):

The date is February 21, 1871 and the Forty-First Congress is in session. I refer you to the "Acts of the Forty-First Congress," Section 34, Session III, chapters 61 and 62. On this date in the history of our nation, Congress passed an Act titled: "An Act To Provide A Government for the District of Columbia." This is also known as the "Act of 1871." What does this mean? Well, it means that Congress, under no constitutional authority to do so, created a separate form of government for the District of Columbia, which is a ten mile square parcel of land.

The Congress realized our country was in dire financial straits, so they cut a deal with the international bankers — (in those days, the Rothschilds of London were dipping their fingers into everyone's pie) thereby incurring a DEBT to said bankers. If we think about banks, we know they do not just lend us money out of the goodness of their hearts. A bank will not do anything for you unless it is entirely in their best interest to do so. There has to be some sort of collateral or some string attached which puts you and me (the borrower) into a subservient position. This was true back in 1871 as well. The conniving international bankers were not about to lend our floundering nation any money without some serious stipulations. So, they devised a brilliant way of getting their foot in the door of the United States (a prize they had coveted for some time, but had been unable to grasp thanks to our Founding Fathers, who despised them and held them in check), and thus, the Act of 1871 was passed.

In essence, this Act formed the corporation known as THE UNITED STATES. Note the capitalization, because it is important. This corporation, owned by foreign interests, moved right in and shoved the original "organic" version of the Constitution into a dusty corner. With the "Act of 1871," our Constitution was defaced in the sense that the title was block-capitalized and the word "for" was changed to the word "of" in the title. The original Constitution drafted by the Founding Fathers, was written in this manner:

"The Constitution for the united states of America".

The altered version reads: "THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA". It is the corporate constitution. It is NOT the same document you might think it is. The corporate constitution operates in an economic capacity and has been used to fool the People into thinking it is the same parchment that governs the Republic. It absolutely is not.

IMO, the particulars of this piece are reasonably accurate, describing events the led to the application of Admiralty Law in our court system.
