And where in the story does it say that Mr. Reid actually has a temple recommend? One can be a Mormon without holding one.

I'd be more than happy to provide links to him being bragging about being a home teacher, but it's not necessary because you already know that.

Harry Reid VOTES and LEADS and ADVOCATES for abortion and marxism, and the LDS church allows him to retain his membership because they want POWER more than righteousness.

It's not only the mormons who have done this, though, just look at the Catholics with Kerry and the Kennedys.

The Temple-recommend-carrying Reid is very active in his church, say fellow members in the Washington area.

Only the most obedient of Mormons are given "temple recommends." These recommends allow faithful members access to the Church's sacred temple ceremonies. Harry Reid, despite his vocal and public support for legislation that provides federal funds for abortion, is known to have such a "temple recommend."

I have a really hard time believing that the "Mormon of the Year" would NOT have a temple recommend...how 'bout you?

Times and Seasons 2009 Mormon of the Year: Harry Reid

While Reid’s faith is not always discussed as much as that of other Mormon politicians, he remains an active member of his ward. In recent years he has helped the Church on some crucial issues, including helping to broker a compromise over Martin’s Cove. Reid spoke openly about his faith in a 2007 address at Brigham Young University and touched on his conversion and beliefs in his recently published memoir. A fixture in Nevada politics who has dedicated his life to public service for decades, Reid has long advocated that one can consistently be both a Democrat and a Mormon.
