I see that Russia is not remembering history - did not the USSR help and work with Germany prior to Hitler declaring war against Stalin? What makes the Russions confident that Iran won’t also turn on them?????

Yes. Russia provided Germany with oil and other raw materials under the auspices of the Non Aggression Treaty of 1939. Russia and Iran have a “bond” I guess you can say that. They support Iran, like the United States supports Israel.
