Palin: Tea Party Leaders Agree with McCain on Big Picture
Fox News ^ | 2010-03-28

(snip)

PALIN: The point here is that Senator McCain and I agree on the big picture, where it is that the country needs to go. There are so many challenges facing America right now, and Senator McCain has been on the right track trying to get the country back on that track that will lead to more prosperity, more security for this nation. We agree on those things that have to take place in order for us to kind of undo some of the things that Obama is doing and get us back on that right track towards prosperity and security.

(snip)

PALIN: Absolutely. And that's why we're making a point to point out that Tea Party leaders are not opposing John McCain. They're supporting his mission, too, and that's to rein in the growth of government. Tea Party -- tea partiers, bottom line, are saying, We're taxed enough already, and that's what John McCain is saying, too.

I'm proud to be part of the Tea Party movement. I'm wearing my Tea Party necklace today, even. I was proud to get to point out Tea Party movement participants in the crowd today. They're here cheering on John McCain because they know, at the end of the day, we're all fighting for the same thing. We're fighting for the future of this great country. So he is part of the Tea Party movement. And yes, they're going to be very impacting. They're going to be impacting for John.

No. I think I’m supporting Sarah. You all just rush in and bash her. I’m not asking you to rubber stamp. No one is. But until there is someone better, who I can’t imagine, I’m going to support Sarah and hope she runs. And I’ll defend her as well.

That is fair, even though she has not yet said she is running.

Palin is a RINO.

I think you're making a mistake here. While I would prefer that Palin would begin to separate from McCain, I do not believe that she is a RINO.

It's becoming increasingly clear.

Many on FR have been whipped into a frenzy by anti war, 9/11 Truther PaulBots, and others who would rather see Obama have a 2nd Term and finish off America as we knew it.

Yep. I've noticed how many of the Paulbots have fairly recent sign-up dates here.

They're up to no good.

We’re two years out and I’ve never seen such hysteria on the part of some posters. It’s a bit odd, imho.

-- She had no right to state that the Tea Partiers are behind McCain. --

Seems she's angling to coopt the TEA party for McCain's benefit.

She can do what she wants, but it's costing her "political capital." Could be she's indifferent as to that in the next decade at least. She can milk a reality teevee gig, and whatever money might be obtainable from political endorsements, speeches, and so forth.

Tough telling what she's up to, but she's cost herself a substantial amount of my "benefit of the doubt," or trust.

Yes, and a lot of these people criticize Republicans, (albeit justifiable in most cases), but you never see them utter anything detrimental regarding Democrats.

In other words, she`s just another politician, playing both sides to better her personal position. But that doesn`t sound like something a conservative would do,that sounds more like a liberal?

What’s amazing, is that nobody is stopping anyone from supporting JD Hayworth. Not even Palin. So you have to ask yourself why people are frothing at the mouth over Palin supporting McCain. She said she was going to do so way before JD even thought about entering the race. She was his frigging running mate, for crying out loud and she’s not going to change her mind because of several dozen posters on an Internet site is angry about it.

Yes Palin has a huge following, but not all of her supporters are going to support McCain just because she does so. We’re still conservatives, remember? Just go out and support JD. The bashing of Sarah really tells you the mindset of people. They’re not Sarah supporters to begin with.

Its not stopping Hayworth supporters....he has been bringing in more money since Sarah ditched the conservative movement and supported McCain.

The problem is that most who are still Palin supporters support Sarah...but do not support conservatism. Supporting a Soros-funded, pro-illegal, pro-terrorist liberal is not conservatism. Her trying to align McCain to the Tea Party is absolutely stupid...and a total insult to anyone a member of the Tea Party.

I think you're just seeing what you want to see, I don't know any Freepers that don't criticize Obama, Pelosi, Reid, etc. You say you don't like hyperbole - but saying something like that is a classic example of it.

Talk about seeing what you want to see...LOL

Just pay attention. There are a few FReepers here who trash Republicans royally, but you never see them say anything about the Unholy Trinity or any of the Dems.

I've seen it and stand by it. Others have noticed it as well.

All you have to do is pay attenton.

Don't be duped.

Well, for the most part, I don’t form my opinions based on comments that Freepers make - I won’t be duped by anyone’s criticism on this site - because I take people’s opinions with a grain of salt. The important thing is that I feel very strongly that people should have the freedom to express their opinion - whether we agree with it or not.

The people that think that we who are questioning Sarah Palin’s endorsement of John McCain are doing it to help the left, or are secretly pimping for Ron Paul or Mitt Romney, or have always been Sarah-haters, are simply wrong - for the most part. I have been on the receiving end of such accusations, and I am none of those things.

You seem to have no problem accusing some of us of engaging in hyperbole - but I see a lot of it coming from your side of the schoolyard as well.

Well, I haven't accused you of anything. In fact, I wasn't paying any attention to you at all. But, if you so desire the attention, I suppose I can accuse you of coming across as somewhat pompous.

You are also attributing comments to me I did not make. When you have to resort to things like that, you have already lost whatever argument it is you are trying to start.

You point out that everone has a right to express an opinion. That includes me. Yes, even though it disagrees with whatever point it is you're trying to make. Stop using Democrat tactics
