So, when, exactly did the Tea Parties start? Right after the Keating scandal?

I think she was referring to the Boston Tea Party.

But McCain is everything she claims that she’s fought against. McCain is the status quo, politics as usual, the good ol’ boys network, the Washington elite and part of the problem.

I disagree with those who say that she’d be nowhere without McCain. She’d have made it to the national stage just fine on her own accomplishments as a strong, competent governor. She didn’t need to be his running mate to be noticed. All she had to do was toss her hat into the ring.

It is what it is though and I only wish that at this point she’d back off and let McCain sink or swim on his own.

Long before the summer of 2008, I respected the man known as the "maverick of the Senate."

Palin Wraps McCain in Tea Party Movement (Says He Was There At The Beginning)

At the Beginning??? Really??

So John McCain dressed up as an Indian*** and dumped tea in the Boston Harbor in 1773?? I knew the dude was old....

*** used Indian instead of Native American, because there was no Political Correctness back in 1773***

The FIRST tea party, Boston Harbor, December 16, 1773.

It was a joke, she was poking fun at his age.

If Juan McCain is remotely what the Tea Party movement is about, then screw that movement and expect it’s imminent demise.

Sarah needs to get away from McCain after today’s event, and stay away.

Dear Gov. Palin.

I really like you. I understand you are campaigning for McCain because you agreed to as part of the condition for accepting his offer to be his running mate.

But please don’t associate a movement that is anti-big government with RINOs that are just as bad as the leftists when it comes to big government.

Say he’s a nice guy, he’s a war hero, he’d be better than the Dem. These are mostly true statements.

But please don’t tarnish a good, grass-roots movement whose chief purpose is political speech to denounce oppressive government with someone who fought and won to restrict our political speech.

Someone needs to talk to Palin directly and explain. She’s getting caught up in the Beltway glitz machine.

Sarah! Sarah! Sarah!

Do, what you feel, is your duty and get out of Arizona as soon as possible. A simple, "I support John McCain (PERIOD)!", will suffice. Anything more than that only diminishes you and doesn't help him, if that is your goal.

I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt. For all anyone knows, McCain might be seriously ill and just asking for one last hurrah before checking out (with a cool state funeral). Or maybe not, but if he keels over in six months at least I won’t have to eat any words! And Gov. Palin will have repaid him for bringing her to national prominence. She can throw in some pious elegy and we’ll all start graciously forgetting everything except his military service.

"Palin Wraps McCain in Tea Party Movement (Says He Was There at the Beginning)"

So far, the Tea Party movement has been very successful at keeping at bay those critics and enemies who would LOVE to claim it's an arm of the Republican Party.

Palin has done the Movement no favors by stupidly linking the RINO worm, McAmnesty, to these grass-roots patriots.....even slyly intimating he was one of the "founding" supporters.

In fact, I find her bubbling chirrupings on this to be incredibly unheeding and damaging. I hope someone calls her on this and puts a plug in her mouth before she does more harm to the non-partisan and highly-successful Tea Party Movement.

Sarah, you have NO business linking the noxious McCain to the Tea Parties in any way, shape or form. Please don't do it again.

Leni

Palin and "Honorable" John were on On The Record w/Greta last night. I didn't listen in but saw a caption below the former duo and it cited the (current) Tea Parties. Anyone know what Palin said and if she tried to link McCain and the contemporary Tea Parties together?

Aside: You Fringers who boldly claimed that Palin would fly in, do one quick appearance with McCain, then go her own way - what happened with that?
It is glaringly obvious that Palin is doing more than just discharging her 'debt' to McCain. She is outright gung-ho for this man.

It is very unfortunate that Palin got put in this situation having to “owe” her former running mate. McCain is anything but conservative.

I understand why she has to campaign for McCain but it really doesn’t help her with the Tea Party Movement.

What will really be tough for Palin is if McCain wins and then starts to try to pass amnesty and other liberal bills.

This will be very interesting.

McCain is to the Conservative movement, what Stupak is to the Pro-Life movement.
