My initial post made 3 points:
1) The US military was segregated in WWII, where the Japanese were first interred, then allowed to fight, but only in their own units.
2) The above might not be a bad idea today, but due to political correctness, it is not likely.
3) Blind prejudice against Mulsims as a group violates common decency and is not patriotic, meaning it does not enhance our military efforts in the ME.
If the US Military says they need Mulsims, I am inclined to believe them, and disbelieve those who say none of them can be trusted.
Muslims as a group ARE vermin.
Whether Jihadists and their supporters represent 1% or 99% of all Muslims, such a blanket statement of contempt is unjustified by the facts, juvenile in the extreme, and only degrade this thread or any rational discussion of the Moslem problem. If it were true, we should immediately withdraw from Iraq, because the representative government we have helped nurture there is run almost exclusively by MUSLIMS! Something to think about, if that is not too much to expect of you.

No, and I believe this horrendous crime could have been avoided if it were not for PC policies in the military. As I stated before, it might not be a bad idea to segregate Muslim soldiers. I would even suggest banning them for the interim altogether, except that the US military states that they need them. Whom shall I believe on that point, you or our military leaders?

That’s just plain wrong. When 99% of muslims support terror and death — explicitly or implicitly — then you bet your butt they are deserving of (as you term it) “blanket contempt”.
Vermin are vermin. You don’t willingly let mosquitoes and rats into your house to bite your children on the basis that 1% of them are “ok”. (Or do you? Maybe YOU do.) No, once a species of animal has reliably proven itself to be vermin you do one of two things: keep them out, or exterminate them. And Muslims have RELIABLY and CONSISTENTLY proven that their only goal is to subjugate non-Muslims — by killing non-Muslims, if need be, especially Christians and Jews. Honestly, how much more evidence of this do you require? Are you really that stupid and/or blind?
Perhaps you’d prefer that I call Islam and Muslims “cancer” instead of “vermin”. How do you treat cancer? By turning your back and avoiding treatment on the theory that 1% of the cancer cells are OK and by God they have a right to your body too? Or by removing or killing every damn one of them you can, knowing that if any are left they will use the same codes programmed into them to turn malignant again?
Muslims are a *malignancy*. Pure and simple. As long as any member of that screwed up religion draws breath, we will have trouble with them, right up until the day Jesus returns. Or don’t you believe that either?
