According to Wired (and no big surprise, considering the practicalities of implementing massive changes in medical finance), US lawmakers "are proposing a national identification card, a 'fraud-proof' Social Security card required for lawful employment in the United States. The proposal comes as the Department of Homeland Security is moving toward nationalizing driver licenses."
We need you to come down and sort out a few things --strictly voluntarily, OK? You'll be back in time for dinner.
We swear.
I used to be for individual privacy, but I’ve seen how lack of real ID just helps fake the vote and let illegal aliens swamp the US. If we need real ID to make OmamaCare work (gag!) we also need it issued only to citizens or legal residents and use it for voting and getting a job here in the USA too.
Why not? After obama care, one more won’t matter.
No one gives a damn about the Constitution any longer. The sky’s the limit.
As of Sunday we are on the razor's edge. We have one more shot at saving this country and admittedly it is a very, very long shot. If we fail in November it is all over.
The seal had grown flat and the duly qualified state employee couldn’t discern that it was an original, although the paper was the old slick paper and the background was black and the printing was white (from the old photocopy process). Unbelievable! When you consider my family has been here since the first boatload in 1585, you’d think I’d get a pass, but no...o...o.
If they bring the national ID card to fruition, this low-level civil war we are in will turn into a shooting war. Count on it. Can you imagine the claims of “racism” if some dope-smoker doesn’t have the brains go down to the DMV and get his?
It would take political will, coupled with the will to use the amount of force necessary to enforce the law.
Though they try like the devil to mask it, our federal politicians are by and large in favor of population growth by any means necessary. Countries are measured by "population," and "the more, the merrier" is about as deep as the politicians think. At the same time, they do have a fear of losing elections.
The ID cards serve as means of control, not as means to enforce the border.
Jim Nabors could not be reached for comment.
But if he could have, his response would have been, I think
SURPRISE SURPRISE SURPRISE!

I think even if the next 50 years were all strictly Republican wins, we would still have failed; the Republican party has failed to: overturn Roe v. Wade (stated plank), dissolve/abolish Social Security (fiscal responsibility), dissolve/abolish Medicare/medicaid (fiscal responsibility), dissolve/abolish the Dept of Education (small government)...
That is to say that at least the Democrats DO what they say they’re going to do, alibit the stated ‘results’ aren’t ever what reality sees and the reasoning/justification is horrible.
What was it Jesus said about fruit? About what people say?
These are the same idiots that have fought “tooth and nail” to prevent identification to vote! Now we need a national ID card?
Unless you’re an illegal alien, then you need some standard of “articulable cause” to believe it’s an alien before you can ask for papers. Ordinary citizens, show ‘em now.
That facility has been available since the mid '90s. An employee who refuses to supply a bank account number for direct deposit participation could end up with either a stored value card or a debit card associated with a new bank account.
"We've opened a new bank account for you. Stop by the bank and fill out your signature card if you want to get paid."
