CHICAGO – The once mighty community activist group ACORN announced Monday it is folding amid falling revenues — six months after video footage emerged showing some of its workers giving tax tips to conservative activists posing as a pimp and prostitute.
“It’s really declining revenue in the face of a series of attacks from partisan operatives and right-wing activists that have taken away our ability to raise the resources we need,” ACORN spokesman Kevin Whelan said.
Several of its largest affiliates, including ACORN New York and ACORN California, broke away this year and changed their names in a bid to ditch the tarnished image of their parent organization and restore revenue that ran dry in the wake of the video scandal.

They will reconstitute as administrators of the health care monies the government collects!

Yep, they are financing it as we speak. Same organization, same strategies, same goals, but under a new name! Obama will make sure they are back to work to get those “voters” to the polls this November.
I guess their “shakedown” money has dried up. Now if that could only happen to Sharpton and Jackson.
Some of the branches just changed their names. But probably their lawyers told them they needed to officially “disband.” Then they could start “new” organizations without any liabilities carrying over from the old ones.
They got new job offers yesterday. A whole bunch of new gubmint jobs just opened up in the IRS and the 118 new healthcare bureaucracies.
What the heck....they already know how tax cheating and money laundering works for illegal activity, AND how people scam entitlements.

They are organizing under a new name: "Community Organizations International"!
Remember that name - nothing has changed. Same goals - aid in corrupting elections so leftists win!
I we are ever to get back the House and/or the Senate, they will have to be marginalized - and that will mean Republicans taking physical risks.
They’re not folding, just reconstituting. ACORN will be back in the election fixing business in plenty of time for the November elections under another name. Stimulous money will suddenly find its way into their coffers.
By the way, slightly OT, but blogger Rand Simberg observed that what just happened in Washington was on the eve of the anniversary of the Stamp Act.
None of the RATs in DC can stand the light shining on their dirt. Liberals fear exposure more than anything.
