Medicaid covers more than most private premium plans.
My friend and her husband/kids qualified for Medicaid within 3 months of him losing his job and moving back to our state. They had lower co-pays than I did and NO deductibles. When her husband finished his degree and had “real” insurance, they were hit with sticker shock at how much everything was costing them. (Their insurance is worse than mine, now, and he works for a hospital!)
