Maybe pet owners should be agitating for socialized vet care next

Why do you think it is that we can't get socialized legal services? I mean, for people who can barely afford their health insurance premiums, how can they possibly afford a lawyer at $200/hr to sue when they are denied care?

Maybe the lawyers in Congress will rectify this

what is the definition of a child for the pre-existing condition clause?

I don't have a clue. I'm not even sure they will be covered. These maniacs are probably counting on all defective babies to be aborted by time this kicks in, in 2014. That is their absolute wish...to butcher, kill, & end life. To break, to destroy, to dehumanize (further) the American people. They can only do that if we let them.

A University of which I am familiar with recently raised it’s undergraduate tuition, to $33,120 for this fall. The administration lauds the fact that tuition assistance/financial aid is increased as well, that the ‘no-loan threshold’ was raised to $80,000, and that the maximum amount of loans that entering, eligible students are required to take out over four years at $10,000, down from $14,500. This University also raised it’s financial aid budget by $10,000,000 for FY ‘11. They comment that this University didn’t start charging tuition (at ALL) until 1965, and is still $5,000 or $6,000 less than peer institutions.

If they didn’t charge prior to 1965, they’ve sure caught up quickly with the older peer institutions. Frankly, I think it makes more sense to LOWER tuition, and LOWER financial aid. If a ‘rich-kid’ can afford to come here for cheaper, perhaps they’ll consider it more of a value, and donate money after graduation. And the ‘poor kid’ can afford to, as well - without the financial trickery of tuition assistance on a higher rate.

It’s just taking money from the right pocket, and putting it in the left.

/For the first time in my life, I’m truly ashamed of my country.

The other is issue is that usually the foreign students pay full freight, and usually foreign students have rich parents who are willing to pay whatever it costs to get them an education in an American university, because it is so hard to get in Universities in their home countries.

I’m pretty sure marriage is a right as well, so we should see people lining up to demand hot chicks be forced to marry them.

My responsibility is also to protect my docs. Many of them have resigned from most networks several months ago. Surprisingly most of these patients have agreed to pay private pay fees or we discount if there is a real financial need or if the patient needs very minimal follow-up. I only have a high deductible hospital policy and my internist sees me for a pre-negotiated cash price. Most doctors will do this at least as long as they are allowed to do so. Will just have to see where all this goes.

Let’s put both on one large sticker: “Honk if I’m Paying Your Mortgage & Health Insurance Premiums!”

RE: “If I had to make a choice to spend my money on life saving treatment for my Dog or one of those Traitors that voted for this fiasco, I would have one happy puppy running around the house.”

**************

My ‘rescued’ dog (from the ‘hood) gets nothing but the best of care and I spent thousands on her last year for her congenital condition(s).

I can pay for this, but if one of my leftist neighbors (who don’t speak to me now because I fly the American flag and have “Don’t Tread on Me” on the car) got sick and begged for something, they could look ELSEWHERE — hey, “ask Obama
!”]

No more charitable donations from me, no more gifts to ungrateful lefty relatives; actually I have cut many off my list of contacts because I just can’t stand their stupidity and greediness any longer. And some of these are reasonably well educated individuals.

Sorry, I am now Mrs. Scrooge! The dog, however, will always think it’s Christmas!

You know, I would rather be right about something else! ;)
I wonder if this is how people felt when the Titanic hit the iceberg? I’m sure most of them thought it was ok, a few thought it might be a problem and maybe some realized it was a disaster in the making. As time went on more and more of them must have realized they were sinking, but initially, I’m sure most of them thought, Hey, it’s the Titanic, it can’t sink. Like many are now still thinking, Hey, its the USA, it can’t sink.

Actually, I think it will end up being *free* because once this is in place, those folks will raise a ruckus and elect people who make the system free and universal. Just watch.

Intuitively, you would think it would evolve along the course you mention above, but it can't. The only way their system can work (inefficient as it is) is if more people are paying into the system, than drawing from it. That means they need a massive amount of young, healthy people paying into the system who are not otherwise drawing from it. So unless this young college kid is a member of a protected class, he's going to pay through the nose whether he likes it or not.

Oh, it will ultimately implode, but I think the direction they will go is free for all. Well, maybe not conservatives....
