I took my older dog to the vet this morning without an appointment or insurance. Cost $140 total.
I discovered that she has leukemia and that I could get chemotherapy for her but the prognosis isn’t good. So I play death panel and decided I’ll keep her comfortable for as long as I can.

I don’t use much obscene language, and I’m pretty sure the F word isn’t welcome on FR, so I guess I just have to stay silent for the moment.

I called my employees in today (58 of them) . I told them I will be firing 9 of them because I have no money for their damned health care but they would have to buy it on unemployment or go to jail. They were very sad. 49 employees will survive but I will never pay one more nickle.

this is a plain old-fashioned Democratic tax bill, disguised as a health bill, designed to preserve and expand the jobs and benefits of the parasitic class in DC. Nothing more...nothing less. Yours and mine health care needs merely interfere with their career plans.

Yup. If anything needed to be done (and I”m not positive anything did, but lets just assume it did) a simple solution would have been catastrophic insurance coverage (which is far cheaper than insurance which is not really insurance but a health maintanence plan) and health savings accounts that can accrue without losing them at the end of the year. The small number of people who are truly needy already have a plan called Medicaid. It needs overhaul, I’m sure, but that has zero to do with this monster they’ve saddled us with.

I think the dirty little secret is that insurance has driven up costs.
It's not a secret among those who have a fundamental understanding of economics. It's easy to prove. Think about it. Is there any medical procedures which have actually gone down in price? Most would say not but there is. It's lasik eye surgery. It's come down in price because insurance doesn't cover it. Also many types of cosmetic surgery have come down in price as again insurance doesn't cover it. I guarantee that these procedures would not have decreased if insurance covered them.

Having been raised in Australia with “Free” Health-care and also having spent several weeks in hospital with critical head injuries and not costing “me” a cent. I know exactly how this guy feels.
BUT!!!!!!!!!!
I did not leave Australia without reason.
Newton summed it up PERFECTLY.
For every Action there has to be an EQUAL reaction. These people do not realize what is going to happen if America ever loses it's Freedom of choice.
We haven’t yet by a long shot. Socialism is a cancer

Not only that, before too long he’ll be demanding that someone else shell out for his co-pay. Brilliant.
