DURHAM, N.C. Uninsured Triangle residents said Monday that they eagerly await the overhaul of the nation's health care system. "It's just going to be like Christmas," said DeCarlo Flythe, who lost health coverage for his family when he was laid off almost three years ago. "It's going to be great. You know, no worries (about) the bills. We are going to go ahead and pay our co-pay and be alright."

“I think the dirty little secret is that insurance has driven up costs.”
I think you’re correct.
Sure did not take more than a few hours, sad.
“Iss a new werl’ honey, nobody gonna hav’ to be a slabe all de time, no mo’ ... We’s gonna take toins! And guess who’s toin it ees foist!”
I’m so sorry. I’ve had to make a similar decision with a pet of mine who needed a new kidney. I have sent a prayer for you.
“...back before everyone and their dog had health insurance, my regular doctors visit cost what my co-pay does now...”
Right. Just get the gov out. There is so much corruption, skiming, cheating. The more parties involved the more anything costs. After all those clerks have to get paid to check those boxes.
You’ve got:
the doc’s clerks
the insurance company’s clerks
the fed gov clerks
the state gov clerks
the employers’ clerks
the union clerks
the hospital’s clerks
all out-sourced medical providers
x-ray clerks
speciman test clerks
(others I can’t think of right now)
Insurance should be for major medical: operations, serious illness, accidents.
Preventive, minor medical, cosmetic or elective should be out-of-pocket.
For the destitude or rare medical conditions there are charities for which the USA has been generous.

Dear God...I grew up in North Carolina. WRAL was the station where the late great Senator Jesse Helms began doing on-air editorials and commentary in the 1960’s. My how WRAL has fallen! Mom & Dad now can hardly bear to watch anything more than the weather on WRAL! Sad — but NC has more than it’s share of moochers and leeches...
If you subsidize the service, the cost will increase.
Each. And. Every. Time.
Take a look at children’s cereal. Do you really think an 11 oz box of sugar coated poison would cost $5 if WIC didn’t pick up the cost 100%? It doesn’t take a genius to figure it out.
Guess what Libs, I am putting up my feet and waiting for my handout.
Guess what else-all that wealth you expected to be spread around just got vaporized
You can't be serious. Don't you understand that WE have to pay for their insurance first?
Good luck, FRiend!
Without insurance in Calicommiea $32,000 for 3 days — no major surgery, no heroics. Hospital charges to make up for non-payers. If you qualify it’s what Medicare would pay — about $6,000.
I see a lot of medical billing.
I’m sorry to hear the bad news about your doggie. -Sigh-
Bah Rock Candy Mountain
One evening as the sun went down and the jungle fire was burning
Down the track came a commie hiking and he said boys I'm not turning
I'm headin for a land that's far away beside the crystal fountains
So come with me we'll go and see the Bah Rock Candy Mountains
In the Bah Rock Candy Mountains there's a land that's fair and bright
Where the handouts grow on bushes and you sleep out every night
Where the boxcars are all empty and the sun shines every day
On the birds and the bees and the cigarette trees
Where the lemonade springs where the bluebird sings
In the Bah Rock Candy Mountains
In the Bah Rock Candy Mountains all the cops have wooden legs
And the bulldogs all have rubber teeth and the hens lay soft boiled eggs
The farmer's trees are full of fruit and the barns are full of hay
Oh, I'm bound to go where there ain't no snow
Where the rain don't fall and the wind don't blow
In the Bah Rock Candy Mountains
In the Bah Rock Candy Mountains you never change your socks
And the little streams of alcohol come a-trickling down the rocks
The brakemen have to tip their hats and the railroad bulls are blind
There's a lake of stew and of whiskey too
You can paddle all around 'em in a big canoe
In the Bah Rock Candy Mountains
In the Bah Rock Candy Mountains the jails are made of tin
And you can walk right out again as soon as you are in
There ain't no short handled shovels, no axes saws or picks
I'm a goin to stay where you sleep all day
Where they hung the jerk that invented work
In the Bah Rock Candy Mountains
I'll see you all this coming fall in the Bah Rock Candy Mountains
Sorry to hear about your dog, cc. We’ve posted before about Jack Russell terriers. They sure as heck steal your heart. My little guy just turned six.
Sounds like you have a good and fair vet. Seems it’s around $300 whenever there’s a problem with my two. Heck, they wanted $400 to clean the jack’s teeth with the anesthesia. Sorry, I’ve never had a dog’s teeth cleaned. Maybe 0bama can include that in his ‘health care reform.’/s
Blessings and comfort for your sick pup. It’s tough, I know.
how does a person making 2 thousand a month
pay 5 thousand a month for insurance?
” So I play death panel and decided Ill keep her comfortable for as long as I can.”
I am truly sorry to hear about your dog. I had have my little dog put to sleep this morning and I have cried all day. He was almost 15 years old, deaf, almost blind, nerar crippled with arthritis and just seemed to be in pain all the time. I got him as a puppy and we’ve been through a lot together. I will miss him dearly.(Jim’s wife)
Yeah. Like that cartoon where Santa is using the chimney for a toilet.
