Gov. Chris Gregoire lashed out Monday afternoon at Attorney General Rob McKenna's decision to join a multistate lawsuit challenging the health-care legislation just approved by Congress.
(snip)
"I don't know who he represents. He doesn't represent me," Gregoire said
(snip)
McKenna said he believes the health-care measure's requirement that everyone buy health insurance is unconstitutional.
"I believe this new federal health care measure unconstitutionally imposes new requirements on our state and on its citizens. This unprecedented federal mandate, requiring all Washingtonians to purchase health insurance, violates the Commerce Clause and the 10th amendment of the US Constitution."

Well, that’s interesting... the left hand of the state disagreeing with what the right hand is doing... LOL ...
I thought that the Attorney General was under the control of the Governor’s office. Maybe it’s different in the State of Washington.
This ALMOST makes me wish the “Big One”, that 9.0 they’ve been predicting, would just hit and take out a good chunk of the west side of the State.
My own home state disgusts me.
In Washington, the AG is independently elected by the voters.
I see... thanks...
People need to call McKenna’s office expressing support. Apparently, a lot of the libs are calling in opposition.
The libs along the I-5 corridor control the state.
I think I read one time (some time in the past) that in the State of Oregon, that 100-mile stretch of I-5 from Portland to Eugene, and about 40 miles wide, contains about 90% of the population of the entire state.
It must be the same way with y'all in Washington, huh?
No you moron, he represents the people and State. Damn how do these people get elected?
BUMP.
Hope McKenna defies her and then ridicules her.
Mock, ridicule, or heckle a liberal today.
Not true. Although the Willamette Velley contains a large chuck of the population, the Oregon Legislature is actually dominated by the rural areas.
In Washington, the western half of the state has two-thirds of the people, and it is overwhelmingly liberal, if not socialist.
Yes, yes, yes & unequivocally, emphatically yes! The evil libturd Fraudoire, one & the same! Rat bastard corrupt socialist demoRAT....but I repeat myself.
From Everett up in Snohomish County, going south through Seattle, down past Tacoma, and finally ending up in Olympia...that 100-mile-or-so stretch does contain the majority of the state’s population, although it’s more like 60-70%. The rest is in southwestern and eastern Washington.
Anything east of the Cascades is relatively sane.
Is she stupid enough to say that, really? She thinks the STATE Attorney General is supposed to represent HER, rather than the people?
Please ping the chapter.
It is the same here.
Gregoire is an embarrassment!
The moniker “Governor McKenna” is sounding pretty good right now.
That Gregoire. And the cost to fight the DemonRAT machine in court cost the Republicans dearly.
Not true. Although the Willamette Velley contains a large chuck of the population, the Oregon Legislature is actually dominated by the rural areas.
I was going by what I had read a while back.
But, I would be interested in finding out what the percentage breakdown is for that stretch of population running from Portland to Eugene (and the associated communities, plus everything in-between) -- and see what that turns out to be.
As I said, I had read it was 90% of the state's population... but it seems that you're saying that it's something different than 90%.
What number do you have for a percentage of that area to the population of the state?
I think the Governor needs a more..personal type of input from her constituents about this piece of Civil War legislation...
He was at a tea party I went to last summer. I think he is the real deal. Originally from Texas
