Shepard Smith, Hero to Left-Wing Bloggers, Slams GOP Chair
FoxNews ^ | 03-22-2010 | Montag813

Posted on 03/22/2010 2:40:48 PM PDT by montag813

Shepard Smith is the DARLING of DailyKos, TPM, ThinkProgress and Media Matters. Why? Because he is a hard left-wing news anchor on what is supposedly the "Right-Wing Network"--FoxNews.

Moreover, Smith routinely bashes Republicans and gives Democrats a pass. Today was no different, as he blasted Republican chairman Michael Steele. But don't believe me...read what a Kos blogger had to say about the exchange.

Then you might want to email Roger Ailes and let him know what you think of his "anchorman"...

I've written more than once in praise of Shepherd Smith as the best newsperson on TV; today he proved it once again interviewing Michael Steele. I wish I had a transcript.

Things I remember include Micheal Steele talking about his new "Fire Nancy Pelosi" website, and Shep asking him, "Who's going to join your 'Fire Nancy Pelosi' movement? The people with preexisting conditions who can now get insurance? The people who couldn't afford insurance before and can now afford it?" Steele sputtered in response.
Then it was on to the language of the Republicans. After a series of quotes including language like "Armageddon," Shep asked Steele, "Armaggedon? Is that appropriate?" When Steele defended such language as the "feelings of the people," Shep asked him, "Armageddon? Do you know what Armageddon is?"

Then Steele got onto small business and how they hate the bill. "Is that the same small businesses who are getting a tax credit because of the bill?" asked Shep. More sputtering from Steele.

And to top it all off, later, referring to Bart Stupak, Smith actually referred to him as "anti-abortion" and not "pro-life." I don't know of a single other newscaster on any other station (not sure about Rachel) who would use that language.

Less than a year, yes a Newbie. But more importantly your sentence made no sense. Shep didn't slam b/c Steele almost called him out?

Turn Fox news off at seven. Simple as that. I make a point of it, every day.

Shep asking him, "Who's going to join your 'Fire Nancy Pelosi' movement? The people with preexisting conditions who can now get insurance? The people who couldn't afford insurance before and can now afford it?"

Steele should have responded by saying: "Yeah, basically you dumb ass. You think the health care for those people is actually going to somehow improve? You think that fewer doctors and nurses mean they are going to better treatment? At least now they have emergency rooms. Who is going to staff those emergency rooms once Obama signs the bill? Fox News anchors of dubious sexuality?"

But he didn't.

I think we can all agree on one thing with the Shepster - his hair is marvelously perfect!

Personally, am glad we have some Lefties on Fox News; and yes, we are free to turn it off when we are offended (as I am and so often do when Shep on air and Geraldo) and it does give Fox some protection and bottom line; Fox IS better than the other stations.

Not always right; or RIGHT. . .but who else would allow Glenn Beck to his stuff on air; or Hannity, for that matter. . .O'Reilly keeps the mushy middle together and again; more listeners are learning along the way. Greta is a Liberal; she is both intelligent and discreet; and she is evolving in her politicss. . .and is always polite to her guests. Who else would have John Bolton giving FN political analysis? There is nothing for 'our side' on any other network. Or Greg Gutfeld?

All said; Fox does a good job; and no matter what; they have the best 'six o'clock' news. While I wish they would do more; they at least cover our bases; and in many cases; often do more.

I don’t know who is the bigger idiot, Steele or Shep and know what? I really don’t even care anymore. This place is so screwed up it’s beyond repair short of a civil war, which will eventually happen unless Islam gets us first. I am so done. I suggest you all get Steele our there or don’t expect to win in 2010, 2012 or until he is gone. He’s a Trojan horse.

Shep threw Steele nasty retorts, but they were EASY AS HELL to hit. Steele is incompetent.

I saw it and was p*ssed. He talked over him the whole time and never let him finish a line. Shep should not be at Fox and I hope they do not renew his contract. He’s better suited for MSNBC.

Not even close. Maddow is far more masculine.
