I am glad to see the fervor that is coming from the outrage that was perpetrated on our country last night and I hope we can keep it up.

Back in 1973, when Roe v Wade was decided, there was as much outrage for that as is the situation with health care now. But what has happened in the last nearly 40 years? Fervor has waned and only the most ardent pro-lifers are still fighting the fight. Polls taken in 1973 showed roughly around 80% were pro-life, while now the polls are significantly lower. Now abortion, which equals killing babies, is relegated to just a mere issue which can be bargained back and forth as seen fit by the parties involved. I hope that doesn’t happen with this issue.

I fear the Dems are going to try to take charge of the argument and keep beating their drum and eventually the public will get tired of hearing about it and become complacent with the passage of time. We can’t let that happen.

I think the key to preventing that is showing the negative impact the bill has in seemingly unrelated areas.

I think this will be initiated in the form of amendments offered by the pubs in the senate to the reconciliation bill. Those amendments won’t pass, but their real purpose is to expose these negative by-products.

It’s up to us to read those and take them up with the public, explaining the negative impact or outcome produced by whatever aspect of the bill the amendment addresses.
