Good thoughts, but let's keep perspective - this could all turn out fine in the end:

1. The Democraps have been forced out into the cold clear light of day. Until they had to vote, they could remain "hidden" to the folks back home.

2. Millions of Americans are enraged. Perhaps enraged enough to carry through to November and maybe take back BOTH houses of congress.

3. There are still plenty of legal arguments that could derail this disaster of a bill.

This could lead to the ideal scenario: the bill is overturned and nullified in the court system; the Democraps have had to commit themselves and now face the voters rage.

I am sorry, what perspective to you want to keep?

You know, I'm usually an optimist myself, really.

The type to laugh on my way to the hospital with 2rd & 3rd degree burns about how I just got them, that it could have been worse.

I would like to offer a perspective on your perspective, not to say one or the other is right or wrong, but only to point out that there's a pattern here that even the most brazing optimists find harder and harder to fathom.

On points 1 & 2, I say this: it was reported (and I have not read the bill so I cannot confirm from my own experience, only regurgitate what I heard on Fox last night) that the first year, the parts of the bill that will take effect are positive ones. These include the ban on pre-existing conditions, the ability to have a "kid" up to 26 years old on their parents policy, and a few others.

The new tax won't hit for 1 year, and the core part of the bill not until 2014 (with IRS fines for not complying with mandated insurance not until 2015).

Thus, the perception among the same unfortunate souls that voted for Mr. President, including some who still aren't on board with what's really going on, may actually be a positive one come November. That would give Dems 2 more years to wreak havoc on our country.

3. There are still plenty of legal arguments that could derail this disaster of a bill.

On point 3, I only offer this one thought: there were many supposed legal arguments as to the legitimacy and origin of the president and his eligibility to sit in office. There were even several lawsuits. He's still in office.

Trying to look on the bright side of things, of course.

But the point that will not go away in this is that a majority of the American people chose this path. They have discovered that servitude seems a small price to pay for receiving such splendid benefits as the federal government offers.

You can almost hear the grunts and squeals in the background and smell the barnyard of the new order.

No amount of legal maneuvering against one law or another will change that attitude, once it is entrenched.
