Hours before a scheduled vote on healthcare reform, Democratic leaders don't have the votes.
The decisions of two Tennessee Democrats, Reps. John Tanner and Lincoln Davis, to vote no has put President Barack Obama, Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her lieutenants in a major bind.
If every member votes, Democratic leaders can only afford 37 defections. According to The Hill's whip list, there are 39 Democrats planning to vote no.
Furthermore, The Hill also has eight Democrats in the undecided/unclear column: Reps Jim Cooper (Tenn.), Kathy Dahlkemper (Pa.), Paul Kanjorski (Pa.), Alan Mollohan (W.Va.), Earl Pomeroy (N.D.), Mike Quigley (Ill.), Bobby Rush (Ill.) and Loretta Sanchez (Calif.).

It all appears to be in Bart Stupak’s hands. (Scary thought!)
Fox claiming Stupak to cave for EO.
Wasserman says EO would NOT change legislation.
Stupak looking for cover to vote FOR the leg?
A deal will be struck and then stricken some time after Obamacare becomes law.
Sanchez will only vote no if Obama-Care can pass without her. She is in a tough re-election fight in November. She needs Pelosi to release her to vote no.
WHORES,all of them.
Ahh. Thanks for the correction.
Having everything ride on a democrat and his take on abortion does not give me the warm and funnies.
Sanchez is officially undecided right now. she will decide during the Roll Call.
If they had the votes without Stupak’s bloc, they would not have been negotiating late into the night last night on an “executive order” fig leaf.
They don’t need all of Stupak’s votes. They already have peeled off Kaptur from the Stupak bloc. If they can get a few others peeled off, and leave Stupak out of it, I’m sure they would like to do that, as there can be no doubt that Pelosi and Hoyer must absolutely despise Stupak.
Pomeroy of North Dakota right now is swearing bullets. He sooo wants to vote NO . ., otherwise he loses his Congressional seat.
Lets hope!!!
