I can't remember which rat it was, but there was one on TV yesterday talking about "every time we give a right to the American people it is like this..." simply unbelievable, and it all goes virtually un-checked!

Yep, I heard it too. It was something about this is how "rights for our citizen's" get started. Small things at first, then on to bigger things (entitlements) ala Social Security, welfare, medicaid/care etc., I believe.

Yes that was it, I wish I could remember which rat it was. The fact that a (supposed) US member of congress can speak like this in public and not be tarred and feathered is not a good sign, but it is very illuminating.
