Funny you say that. Yesterday my son told me a tale about one of his friends who was just offered an internship at a good hospital. Needless to say- he’s studied hard and long and sacrificed much to get to this stage. He told my son he’s put off accepting the internship until this vote happens. His father owns a restaurant and if the bill passes he’s going to decline the internship and go to work with his dad.
My son tried to dissuade him- said we’ll need good docs etc. but his friend is completely disillusioned and explained some things to my son about what it will really be like if this happens.
This story will be played out in greater numbers if this bill passes- as you well know.
That’s so sad, but true! My husband doesn’t want any of the grands to enter medicine now or the service academies.
my best friend is a gynecologist, her husband is a cardiologist and their oldest daughter was just last week accepted into med school. what should be a time of celebration for them has this horrible pall cast over it because of this bill. i texted her from the Capitol lawn yesterday because my 15 yo and i were down at the rally and she thanked me for being there protesting for her and her family[she had to go up to PA for her mom’s 92d bday party this weekend] I had texts from so many friends in other states saying the same thing.
